About Project

This website is part of a project funded by an Insight grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. The site hosts a peer-to-peer research tool, BookMark, designed to connect people who need photographs of pieces of marginalia with people who are able to take those photographs. The site also hosts a blog about marginalia (Signature), and facilitates a network of researchers who use marginalia in their research (the Early Modern Marginalia Research Network). The site was built by Rishabh Sharma, a student in Math – Computer Science at the University of Waterloo.

The project is led by Katherine Acheson (University of Waterloo), in collaboration with Diane Jakacki (Bucknell University), Leah Knight (Brock University), Mary Learner (University of North Carolina), Cayley MacArthur (University of Waterloo), Nick Richbell (University of Waterloo), Rosalind Smith (Australia National University), and Micheline White (Carleton University).

If you have questions or suggestions, if you have an idea for a blog post about marginalia, or if you are willing to be interviewed about your interest in marginalia studies, please let us know at emmrn@uwaterloo.ca.
